Sam Eash
Allegro in A Major for Clarinet and Harpsichord

I am now uploading my compositions to soundcloud.

Here is a standalone piece I have written for the clarinet and harpsichord. It is essentially a monothematic work but I really like it.

Sonata for Viola and Basso Continuo in D Minor - I. Lento
Composed by Sam Eash

It’s been awhile since I’ve uploaded anything I have written, and I’ve gotten a lot better since my last few uploads. Here you go. Don’t mind the shitty MIDI. I only have noteworthy composer on this computer, and my laptop which contained the fucking amazing Sibelius 6 is broken.

Three Minuets for Classical Guitar - Composed by Sam Eash

  1. Minuet Allegro in C Major
  2. Minuet Moderato in F Major
  3. Fuga Minuetto in Eb Major

So for my opus I was going to compose 12 minuets for classical guitar. I wrote about six and got bored and stopped. These were the best of the six.

The most notable is the third minuet, which takes the form of both a fugue and a minuet. It has counterpoint (the voices are set apart by a third), but it is written in 3/4 time and in binary form rather than the typical fugue form.

Suite for Unaccompanied Bassoon in C Major - By Sam Eash

Part 1

  1. Overture
  2. Sarabande

I have writers block and I’ll work on the other movements later.

The overture is a typical overture, consisting of AABA form. The A section is a royal sounding section which is accomplished by the use of dotted notes. The B section is a fugue, and a quick reprise of the A section. Normally overtures were scored for large ensembles. They were rarely written for solo instruments, and if they were written for solo instruments, they were almost exclusively for the piano/harpsichord. Rarely they would be written for solo stringed instruments like lute or violin. It is especially uncommon to hear an overture for a woodwind instrument, which is why I chose to wrote it.

The Sarabande is a slow intimate dance that stresses the second beat, giving it an iambic sound. It is written in binary form, meaning AABB. I realize it would be almost impossible to play it like this in real life, because I didn’t leave any breath marks. You have my permission to breathe whenever you want to breathe, players.
